As a biotechnologist and entrepreneur, I’ve dedicated my career to exploring the intersections of biology, design, and technology.
Currently, I serve as a research associate at BurgLabs, where we focus on making biology a tangible design tool.
With my experience in founding science-based startups and projects such as Solaga or Pollupatch, I support start-ups and foudners related to biotech/biodesign as a consultant.

RESEARCH
BURGLABS
As a researcher in the BioLab of the BurgLabs initiative at Burg Giebichenstein University of Art and Design Halle, I conduct my own research and consult designers and artists in working with biotechnology.
LIVING MATERIALS RESEARCH
My latest research into engineered living materials led to the development of a new rapid liquid printing technique. By 3D printing hollow 3D hydrogel structures, we provide a scaffold to grow biomaterials into complex forms.
ENTREPRENEURSHIP
LUMIRALAB
Founder of Lumira Lab, a bioanalytical service for end consumers focusing on air analysis of common indoor pollutants such as formaldehyde, VOCs and moulds.
SOLAGA
Co-founder of Solaga, a micro-algae biofilm Start-Up, based in Berlin, with the mission of neutralizing air and water pollutants with microalgal biofilms. (founded in 2017)
